Announcements for May 2008
Baptist Courier
The Baptist Courier may be accessed online by clicking on the link on our
Home Page.
SMILE!
Lighthouse will soon have a new Church Directory. It’s long overdue
and with the many new members these last several months, it will be a real
help to put a name with a face! We need your cooperation, though. Our goal
is to have 100% participation. You will have a choice of time slots, scheduled
every 10-15 minutes, so it will be imperative that you be prompt for your
photograph. Beginning on May 10th and going through May 17th, you will have
an opportunity to have your individual or group picture taken. A sign-up
sheet will be provided at the reception area in the new Sanctuary. The church
has a new color printer that will be perfect for compiling the directories,
and our own Stan Williamson will be your in-house photographer.
Ministry of Worship
Missionary from Tanzania
Linda Laughren, from Pioneer Bible Translators, will be with us on May
18 at 7:00 PM.
Prayer Board
A Prayer Board has been placed in the Adult Sunday School Building by
the back door. You are encouraged to bring your petitions and prayer needs,
post them on the board, leave them until God answers your need, and then
post a praise report if you like.
Prayer Around the Lighthouse
Come join us every Thursday at 10:00 AM to join hands around the Lighthouse
and pray for God’s will to be done for our church.
Tape Ministry
Do you want to share a certain Sunday sermon with someone? You may now
order one by filling out an order form provided on the table in the Worship
Center. This is a great ministry for those who cannot attend church.
Ministry of Education
New Members’ Class
We will begin a new members class May 11, 2008. It will last 4 weeks.
All new members are encouraged to take this class. There will be a sign-up

The Children’s Choir and hand-bell practice time is Sundays at 6:00
PM. We will meet in the Choir Room. Any questions, see Sharla Bush.

(A support group created by moms of military serving)
Are you a lady that has a loved one serving in our military? If so, come
meet with others that share your same concerns. We want to pray, support,
send cards and packages, etc. to encourage our patriots. Meetings are
to be held in the conference room the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:30
PM. For more information, call 640-0509 or 648-4075.
Relay for Life
The Lighthouse Prayers Relay for Life Team would like to invite our Church
family to come out on May 16th at 7:00 PM to the Aiken High School football
field to support our team. We have many in our church who have been touched
by cancer. If you would like to help support them we could use some baked
goods to sell the night of the relay. If you would like to honor a loved
one who has or had cancer with a luminary bag placed around the field
the night of the relay, see Lisa Willing.
